At its core, StarStarter employs a game-based approach rooted in the established clinical and neuroscientific research field known as Attention Bias Modification (ABM).

Gameplay Overview
In StarStarter, players embark on a mission to assist Planet X, which is beleaguered by a dark cosmic force that has propelled it from its solar system into the depths of space, draining the energy of surrounding constellations. This energy loss has plunged these constellations into darkness, and players are tasked with the unique role of restoration.

Each week, players navigate through deep space aboard their ship, the StarStarter. The gameplay involves swiping across the board to capture star energy, thereby reigniting the constellations. Throughout the journey, players unlock Stellar Wisdom, earn power-ups, and enhance their magnetic attraction field. The recommended session duration is 6-12 minutes daily, practiced four times per week for a total of four weeks, to observe potential benefits.

Mechanism of Action
The therapeutic foundation of StarStarter is based on a cognitive training approach that focuses on modifying subconscious attentional patterns through ABM. It leverages the brain's inherent capability to recognize facial expressions at a subconscious level—a response evident even in infants to their parents’ smiles. During gameplay, facial expressions are integrated to help retrain emotional responses and attention patterns associated with ongoing anxiety.

StarStarter’s innovative game mechanics have been meticulously developed and refined over a decade, backed by NIH-funded neuroscientific research led by Dr. Tracy Dennis-Tiwary, Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer.

Warnings and Limitations
StarStarter is available for non-prescription use under FDA enforcement discretion; however, it has not been evaluated, cleared, or approved by the FDA. The app is not intended for diagnosing, monitoring, treating, or preventing any disease. While it may serve as an adjunct to clinical care, it should not replace traditional clinical interventions.
